English Wine Tasting

You may know your Rioja from your Rhone and your Bordeaux from your Beaujolais but how clued up are you on English wines?

English wines have grown up over the past few years and, particularly the sparkling variety are developing a pretty cool reputation as the perfect summer drink.

We’ve gathered an eclectic range of wines from top English wineries with the emphasis on what England does best - sparkling, rosé and white wine - plus a couple of reds we think stand out. You’ll be introduced to new grape varieties and wine styles whilst being coached and entertained by one of our qualified wine consultants on how to taste wine. You’ll also learn why our English climate has been surprisingly conducive to grape-growing for more than 1,000 years and how the future is shaping up.

Award-winning Nyetimber Classic Cuvee and Ridgeview Fitzrovia Sparkling Rose represent the fizz. The tasting includes several Chapel Down wines made by 2005’s UK Winemaker of the Year, Owen Elias. Also included are Denbies Yew Tree Pinot Noir, Biddenden Ortega Dry and Three Choirs Bacchus.

Prepare to be amazed at the quality!

The tasting fee is £25 per person with a minimum of 10 people.

"Many thanks and congratulations on the English wine tasting you gave to our club. You will have heard the laughter and gauged for yourself that everyone was thoroughly entertained. You may not immediately know that everyone was also delighted with the information and knowledge you dispensed through the joviality. A most enjoyable evening of fun and information." East Grinstead Wine Society, January 2007
