A young Chardonnay with ripe pineapple and citrus aromas with a mouthwateringly fresh and fruit filled flavour.
Grape: Chardonnay will grow almost anywhere and produce decent and quite stylistically different wines ranging from minerally Chablis, Champagne, buttery fruit wines, tropical fruit wines or oaky vanilla wines. Region: Mendoza is the largest and most important of Argentina’s wine regions. Situated in the west of the country at the foot of the Andes, it has a hot and dry continental climate with cold nights. There is a little rain in the summer months but irrigation is necessary. Fortunately, water is plentiful, with snow melt supplying the rivers flowing from the mountains. Frost is rare so the main risk to vines is from La Piedra, hail that comes in early summer.
Style: These wines are more distinctive in style than the mainstream grape varieties and usually provoke a love/hate response! Worth testing out on your tastebuds is a Gewurztraminer for a luscious & fragrant wine with lychee, lime and apricot aromas. This wine is wonderful with Chinese or Thai food. Discover the full on fruitiness of the fabulous Riesling grape which develops petrol aromas as it ages.
