Wine Allergies

Do you develop red blotches when you drink? If so, you may be allergic to alcohol. A low level of an enzyme used to break down alcohol in our stomach can cause red blotches and even stomach cramps. While anybody can be allergic to alcohol people of Asian origin are more likely to lack the enzyme. The characteristic is genetic and can be passed from either parent.
