Jamie Goode on respiration and photosynthesis

This show was published 27 November 2009

Overview

Jamie Goode is a wine writer and leading wine blogger with a PhD in plant biology. In this final interview Jamie gives us an overview of grapevine respiration and photosynthesis.

We hear how grapevines shut down when they get too hot (usually above 35 degrees celsius) and stop photosynthesising (blockage in French). Also how the process of respiration (the plants metabolism) can be separate from process of photosynthesis and why wine growers need to understand how this impacts on the quality of the grapes.
