- Tim Wilson on the UK wine market
Overview
Tim talks to us about his quarterly report, The Wilson Drinks Report, which collects data from 13 specialist wine retailers. Volumes in the off trade have been steadily declining over the last few years by 2 or 3% per annum although value sales are just about holding. But the long term picture for wine is good. The online retail market is growing and accounts for 11% of the total off trade market. Tim talks to us about the split between white and reds and how red wine outsells white via online purchases but not in store. We also talk about how different countries and their flagship wines perform online.
