- Hermitage with Laetitia Terry from Jaboulet
Overview
This week we're in Tain l'Hermitage in the Rhone Valley with Laetitia Terry, sommelier at Domaine Paul Jaboulet et Aine. The Jaboulet family first began producing wine in 1834 until recently in 2006 they sold the Domaine to the Frey family. They now have 120 hectares in the Rhone Valley including 12 hectares in the Southern Rhone in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The rest is in the Northern Rhone with 25 hectares in the Hermitage appellation. The Hermitage vineyards are mainly south-facing located on steep slopes and protected from the strong winds of the mistral by trees and hills. We talk about the grape varieties - Syrah, Marsanne and Roussane and the main reds La Chapelle and La Petite Chapelle.
