- Jermaine Stone of Wine and Hip Hop Podcast
Overview
Jermaine Stone of Wine and Hip Hop is from Brooklyn, New York and grew up in the Bronx, immersed in hip hop culture. Later, after college, when he began in the wine industry Jermaine was able to translate his love of hip hop to wine and make a connection between the two cultures. We discuss what hip hop is beyond the music, rappers and luxury goods and how wine lyrics have become part of hip hop music since the early 1990s with references to wine brands such as Cristal and Petrus. Jermaine has a YouTube show called Tasting Notes from the Streets, showcasing international wines. His audience is around 24-55 years, people who have been drinking wine for a little while and know the kinds of wine they like. Jermaine tells us about Cru Luv, his consultancy, media and events business.
