Overview

Nyetimber is one of the UK's leading sparkling wine producers. We meet with owner and CEO Eric Heerema and winemaker Cherie Spriggs.

Cherie and her husband Brad are responsible for making the wine at Nyetimber. The original Nyetimber vineyards covered 34 acres but new plantings in may 2007 increased the vineyard to 260 acres and this year Nyetimber are going to plant another 90 acres bringing the total to 350 acres.

Nyetimber specialise in producing the best quality sparkling wines and do not and will not be producing still wines. They produce a Classic Cuvee and Blanc de Blancs but the Classic is produced in larger volumes. They are also preparing to launch a rosé in a fresh, fruity style and are building up reserves to be able to produce a non-vintage wine in the future. They plant the Champagne varieties of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay which makes up around 60% of the volume.
