Vino-Lok with Siegfried Landskrone
This show was published 23 October 2009
Siegried Landskrone of Closure Systems International (CSI) talks to us about Vino-Lok, an innovative glass closure for wine.
CSI produce closures for many different markets including food & beverages. As well as producing screwcaps for wine they started developing a glass on glass closure in 2002. In 2004 they began commercial production of the Vino-Lok system. Vino-Lok is a glass stopper with a small plastic non-pvc liner system between the wine and the glass. The closure creates a completely airtight seal for the wine and so is ideally suited to wines that are designed to be drunk young. The core market is Europe but also some wineries in Napa Valley, Australia and South Africa have taken up the closure for both white wines (c.60%) and reds (40%). Consumer acceptance and response to the Vino-Lok has been fantastic with people liking the convenience aspects and the way it looks.
The UK Wine Show is sponsored by ThirtyFifty. Our team of wine tasters are busy entertaining and educating UK consumers to help them get the most out of wine.
The music used for the UK Wine Show is Griffes de Jingle 1 by Marcel de la Jartèle and Silence by Etoile Noire.
