We talk with Stu Powell climatologist and frost forecaster and consultant to vineyards in Marlborough. We talk with him about how vines and grapes react to frost, usually in a negative way. So it is essential to protect grape vines from frost.

The common methods include spraying water, winedmills, burners and even helicopters. Each has there uses and costs and problems that vary during different times of the growing session.
