UK Wine Show 28 Matthew Jukes

This show was published Friday, December 8, 2006

Overview

Matthew Jukes is wine writer for the Daily Mail read by an estimated 10 million readers. He tells us how Robert Joseph convinced him that wine was his calling not physics, to the relief of his physics tutor. Every year he produces a Burgundy and a Bordeaux report, but it is in Australia that Matthew comes into his own, publishing his top 100 wines showing the great diveristy of Australian wines. We discuss Hunter Valley Semillon and the new, younger styles now starting to be released.

Matthew is a Pinot fan and gives his view on how the New World is going in producing top end Pinot Noir - Matthew thinks that some of the more modern, Robert Parker driven wines may not age much beyond 5 years.
