UK Wine Show 45 & 46 Claire Wood Two Hands Horizontal Tasting

This show was published Friday, April 6, 2007

Overview

Two Hands Wines was established in 1999 with the objective of making the best possible Shiraz based wines from prized Shiraz regions in Australia. The 'two hands' are Michael Twelfree and Richard Mintz and the heart of the operation is based in the Barossa Valley. In part 1 we compare 3 wines from 3 regions in a horizontal tasting.

Australia's regions each have their own style of wine. In this interview we look at a range of Shiraz from the same producer but from different regions in Australia. They find that the cooler regions produce red berry fruit characters with spice, cloves, cinnamon and white pepper while as the regions become warmer the Shiraz changes and denser darker black fruit, blackberry and plum aromas appear with the spice fading to hints of black pepper.

Garden Series (Barossa wine growers call their vineyards gardens.)
