Wine fraudster gets sentenced

Rudy Kurniawan was sentenced to a decade in prison last Thursday and ordered to forfeit $20million and pay $28.4milliion in restitution. He was convicted of making fake vintage wine in his Californian kitchen and selling it for tens of millions of dollars. He had caused losses close to $30 million, primarily to seven victims. One was William Koch, a billionaire yachtsman, entrepreneur and famous wine investor. During his already 2 1/2 years that Kurniawan has served in prison he has lost everything.
