IWC result crown M&S king of value

The IWC 2016 results are in and M&S was the supermarket winner this year taking the crown from Tesco for Great Value Awards. Tesco had held the crown for 2 years. Tesco have recently overhauled their wine selection, reducing the number of lines on offer. Within the Great Value category 15 out of the 17 awards were awarded to own-brand wines. To qualify for a great value award a wine must have been awarded a Gold or Silver medal, be available nationally and must not exceed £15 for still and sweet wine and not above £25 for sparkling wines. In particular if you're looking for something for summer drinking M&S's Rosado Cava Prestige NV produced by Freixenet was awarded Great Value Sparkling Wine and is £10. I'll definitely be trying that with my new picnic rug says Catherine! To see the full list of award winning wines go to the International Wine Challenge website.
