International Wine Challenge (IWC) Trophy awards
International Wine Challenge (IWC) awards were announced this week and, along with a huge range of trophy wines and award-winning businesses, a few of the awards stood out.
Neil McGuigan of McGuigan Wines has been awarded White Winemaker of the Year, making McGuigan the first Australian winery in history to achieve this award four times.
The IWC Champion White Wine was an Austrian Riesling from Kamptal -
Weingut Birgit Eichinger Riesling Ried Zöbinger Gaisberg Erste Lage Kamptal 2017.
The IWC Champion Red Wine was a Languedoc blend - Gerard Bertrand Château L'Hospitalet Grand Vin La Clape 2017.
And finally, the Champion of Champions’ Trophy 2019 was awarded to a Sherry - González Byass Tio Pepe Cuatro Palmas Amontillado.
