World's largest wine bottle springs a leak and firefighters are called to stem the flow.

The largest wine bottle in the world has sprung a leak, needing six firefighters to deal with it.

The bottle, which contained 1590 litres or 2,120 regular 750ml bottles of wine, started leaking and required six firefighters to stabilise and drain the remaining 1360 litres of Zweigelt (Zweigelt is Austria's top red grape variety). The wine, from Austria’s Burgenland producer Keringer, was awarded a Guinness World Record for the largest filled wine bottle in 2017.

The remaining wine will be re-bottled and sold off to raise funds for charity.
