France hit by heavy frost, putting this year's vintage at risk

France has been hit by heavy frost, putting this year's vintage at risk.
The coldest night in April since 1947, has caused widespread frost throughout France. The frost hit between the 3rd and 4th April with temperatures as low as -7° Celsius in Chablis and -6° in Bordeaux. Concerns are raised for the 2022 vintage as the 2021 vintage was also badly hit by frost. However, this year the vines are less evolved and while the frost was colder, it did not last as long as the devastating 2021 frost event.
