Drinkers set world record sip

Wetherspoon has broken the record for the world’s largest wine tasting. Guinness World Records officially confirmed last week that a new record has been created by the 17,450 people who tasted wine simultaneously in Wetherspoon pubs across the UK at the end of May.

The previous world record was 5,100 people wine tasting at one time, which was set in Spain in 2006.

For the attempt, Wetherspoon encouraged drinkers to participate by offering them a free glass of Fetzer Coldwater Creek. Kay Lewis, who organised the event, said, ‘We are delighted to have created a new Guinness World Record.’
