ThirtyFifty wins Wine Education Award
UK Wine tasting company, ThirtyFifty has won the International Wine Challenge Educator of the Year 2008, an award created to recognise companies at the forefront of wine education.
The judging panel commented “Thirty Fifty is a most worthy recipient of the International Wine Challenge Educator of the Year 2008. On their website, thirtyfifty.co.uk, there’s an incredible array of interviews and news items using a relatively new medium - podcasting. There’s a focus on wine and health and their tastings are a good outreach to consumers.”
The company has run over 1,300 wine tastings since it was launched in 2002 by husband and wife team Chris Scott and Jane Scott, and has reached out to tens of thousands of wine drinkers. Says Chris “The award is a fantastic achievement for all of us at ThirtyFifty and will help spread the word about what we do – make wine tasting a fun activity for people while educating them at the same time. Our down-to-earth, no-nonsense approach to wine via our tastings and podcast has encouraged a lot more people to learn more about wine, more easily.”
The UK Wine Show podcast receives 10,000 downloads a week and features top wine news stories and interviews from leading experts from within the industry. This year ThirtyFifty has expanded to Australia with a team based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
