2008 Bordeaux a mixed bag
Berry Bros & Rudd verdict on the 2008 Bordeaux is that it's a mixed bag in terms of quality. After 6 days of tasting the Berry Bros team selected just 42 out of the 385 wines tasted which, subject to price they will offer to customers. They have no plans to buy stock for the future, at least not until sterling recovers against the Euro.
The team's top selections included Chateau du Tertre, Chateau d'Angludet and Chateau d'Armailhac.
Meanwhile unexpectedly early, Chateau Angelus released their prices for the 2008 en primeur at the same price as 2004 in Euros but equivalent to £725 per case in bond. Prices are normally released three weeks after the tasting.
