Asia's wine consumption set to grow by 25%
New research released by Vinexpo suggests that Asia's wine consumption will grow by 25% in the next five years. That's 5 times faster than in the rest of the world and equates to around an extra 1.3 billion litres of wine. The figures were compiled by the International Wine & Spirit Record for Vinexpo which will be staging its next wine exhibition, Vinexpo Asia-Pacific, in Hong Kong in May. In contrast wine consumption in Europe is expected to fall slightly over 5 years although the United States is forecast to grow by 7 to 8%. Globally the growth is predicted to be 3.6%.
