Latest New Zealand harvest means cheap NZ Sauvignon Blanc a thing of the past
Cooler weather, a late harvest and an Indian summer should please wine connoisseurs this year, according to the New Zealand Winegrowers Association.
New Zealand had a fantastic April and promises to deliver very good quality wine once it hits the shelf. The latest wine harvest has been a long time coming and it is unclear what volumes will be. Precise figures won't be known for about 6 weeks.
Philip Gregan, head of the New Zealand Wine Growers Association, said the smaller harvest contrasts to the wine oversupply over the last 3-4 years, which warped supply and demand, and could result in the end of super low prices.
