Region
Crozes-Hermitage is an appellation of the northern Rhone valley in France and is the largest of all the northern appelations of Cotes du Rhone. It covers a relatively large area on the eastern bank of the Rhone river, to the north and south of Tain L’Hermitage town. 90% of Crozes Hermitage wines are red and made predominately from Syrah. But sometimes they are blended with small quantities of white Rouassanne or Marsanne grapes.
Style
Shiraz and Zinfandel both feature here due to the ripe fruit flavours overlaid with spice. For Shiraz you’ll notice white or black pepper on the nose where Zinfandel will remind you of a spicy fruitcake, think cherries & cinnamon. These wines smell good, look good and taste good.
