Overview

Doug Wregg is Sales & Marketing Director at Les Caves de Pyrene, independent wine importers and wholesalers. They are supporters of ‘natural wines’ which are wines made with minimal intervention in the vineyard and throughout the winemaking process. The move towards natural wines began in France about 15 years ago when a few growers sought to make wines without sulphur or minimal amounts of sulphur. Natural or naked wines are made with minimal use of chemicals through sustainable, biodynamic or organic viticulture. Doug describes the philosophy and some of the issues surrounding the natural approach.
