- Thibaut Montgillard on Tonnellerie Meyrieux and Wine Barrels
Overview
Thibaut Montgillard describes the complete process for making oak barrels from the drying of the wood to the production of the staves to building the barrel itself. The oak staves can be toasted in a number of ways to produce different types of barrels for different styles of wines. The Meyrieux cooperage produces 3 types of barrels - the Traditional, the Grand Selection and the Premier Cru. A great interview on all aspects of barrel making.
