- Central Loire Wines Horizontal Tasting with Benoit Roumet
Overview
Benoit Roumet is a director of the BIVC, the regional trade body for the wines from the Central Loire Valley. We taste 3 Sauvignon Blancs from central Loire from Pouilly-Fume, Menetou-Salon and Sancerre. Pouilly-Fume is on limestone soils, Menetou-Salon is clay & limestone (Kimmeridgian) and Sancerre the soil is flintstone. The vintage is 2011 and they are all from the same grape so we find out how the different soils affect the character of the grape.
