- Hugo Rose on The Wine Investment Association
Overview
We talk with Hugo Rose MW about the new industry body the Wine Investment Association. The Wine Investment Association is a voluntary group aiming to create confidence for wine investors who often lose out when a wine company goes bankrupt.
Small companies that are members are annually audited to ensure that clients wines held by them are correctly allocated to them. This means that if the company goes bankrupt the public will be able to get there wines back. The body has weak sanctions and while they claim to help clients it does not have any consumer representation on the board.
