Victoria Burt MW on WSET Level 3 Part 2

This show was published 15 October 2016

Overview

In this second interview with Victoria we continue to discuss the changes to the WSET Level 3 syllabus and in particular the winemaking chapters of the text book which are more in-depth than previously. We talk about the WSET's SAT (systematic approach to tasting) and how it has been simplified in terms of the main components required during tasting analysis. The wine lexicon has been split into 3 groups - primary group (from the grape), secondary flavours (from fermentation process) and tertiary (from maturation/ageing) - requiring student to identify flavours from each grouping in order to gain marks.
