- Revisiting Vinolok with Saika Duskova Part 1
Overview
Saika is the brand ambassador for Vinolok, promoting their closure which is made from glass and EVA (a natural resin). It can be customised in different colours, finished and be branded. The oldest vintage sealed with a Vinolok is 2001 (they entered the market in 2004) and the wine has aged well, according to Saika. Wines sealed with the Vinolok closure are said to develop more slowly thanks to a low OTR (Oxygen Transfer Rate) and claim to be better at retaining freshness and fruitiness vs a natural cork. Vinolok has been owned by the Preciosa group since 2011.
