- Scott McWilliam on McWilliams Winery
Overview
Scott is a sixth generation of the McWilliam family - his great, great grandfather JJ McWilliam planted the first vines in Riverina in 1913 was an early pioneer of the region. We talk about the history and grapes, much of which were originally destined for fortified wines.
Scott has been a winemaker for 18 years but has now has changed roles and is a director of the business with more focus on sales and promoting the winery.
We hear how they later branched out into the Hunter Valley, expanding their vineyards in 1946 and producing still wines there.
