- The Swedish wine market with Sara Norell
Overview
Sara Norell talks to us about the Swedish wine market which is dominated by wines from Italy (biggest share at 25% of all wines) and France at number 2 with 14% of volume sales. Value share is about the same between Italy and France. We also talk about wine packaging formats such as bag in box which has environmental benefits and can help with responsible drinking encouraging consumption of just the one glass vs a whole bottle. There are around 100 wine producers in Sweden, but only a handful of commercial wineries. They're producing mainly white wines (Solaris), some red (Rondo) and now some sparkling wine is also being made.
