ThirtyFifty - Hens

Alsace with Laure Adam

This show was published 19 June 2020

Overview

Alsace's climate is defined by the rain shadow created by the Vosges Mountains, but global warming is changing the styles of wines produced.

We talk to Laure Adam from Jean-Baptiste Adam about how the changing climate is affecting the wines, and why the late harvest wines of Alsace are becoming harder to produce.

We also discuss how sweet botrytis wines are created without the usual misty morning conditions used throughout the world, and touch on the increasing popular sparkling Crémant de Alsace
