Robert Joseph on Celebrity Wines
This show was published 12 November 2021
Robert talks about celebrity wines and the approach different celebrities take. Some are hands-on, while others employ others to manage the whole process of making the wine. Some celebrities buy vineyards and a winery to make wine, others are less involved and have a partnership with a wine company or producer to create a range of wines in their name.
Robert draws a parallel with books - autobiographies, cookery books, diet books etc. Some of these are ghost written but does that really matter, in the same way does it matter if someone else has made the wine or not!
Chris and Robert discuss pricing and value of celebrity wine brands and the motivations for purchasing certain wine brands and how celebrity brands can simply be a vehicle for companies to sell more wine.
