- UK Wine Show 131 Chris Unger of Yalumba on the Environment
Overview
Chris Unger is a sales manager for Negociants UK, the Australian owned importer of Yalumba. Chris is a fully trained winemaker and worked in wine production for seven years before coming to the UK. We talk with Chris about how Yalumba manage the environmental aspects of producing wine.
Yalumba has set up a life cycle system for managing the environmental implications of growing grapes, from the practices in the vineyard right through to the end consumer and the packaging and recycling at the end. They are ISO 14001 accredited (Environmental Management Standard) of which there are 5 key pillars: product stewardship, land stewardship, greenhouse challenge, environmental citizenship and waste management.
