Robert Parker makes changes at The Wine Advocate
Influential US wine critic Robert Parker is stepping down as Editor in Chief from his newsletter Wine Advocate but will continue to cover Bordeaux, the Rhone, retrospectives on California vintages and profiles of under $25 wine bargains. He will also remain CEO and chairman and an owner of the Wine Advocate brand. Parker announced the business would be run from the new Singapore office where he has taken on three Asian investors but later in the week he told Wall Street Journal the business would stay put in Maryland in the US.
In a new move they will also allow advertising for the first time but with advertisers who don't present a conflict of interest with their writing content - so there won't be any wine related businesses placing ads.
