January Sales of 2 biggest wine suppliers

Two of wines big boys are looking for financial backers as we enter 2013. Frances Pressoirs de France group have announced they are going into receivership. The group exports cheap champagne to the supermarket sector in and out of France including in the UK to Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose.

And in Australia Casella Wines who produce the Yellow Tail brand of wines have made a financial loss for the first time in 20 years. Casella make a fifth of all Australian Wine. Their biggest market is the USA where they are the biggest selling Australian Wine. Casella commented that the problem was not about volume in the US but profit. The strong Australian dollar against the US dollar has made making a profit in this market a struggle. They are looking for financial backers.
