Bordeaux 2013 prices are down
Lafite was the first of the first growths to release its en primeur pricing, and it is down to €288 per bottle, a 14% cut on the 2012 price. Its still a huge 122% above the 2008 price of €130 per bottle (which now has a price tag of €555).
Lafite’s pricing is often considered fair by merchants and the château’s en primeur release is nearly always the cheapest on the market. The only caveat from merchants though is that others shouldn’t follow suit due to the Lafite’s prestige and the premium it can command.
Meanwhile fifth growth Lynch-Bages dropped their price by 17% down to €50 a bottle ex-négociant.
