Alcohol related crime collapses over the last 15 years
Crimes fuelled by alcohol in the UK have dropped by 47% since 1995. Better town partnerships and a society less tolerant of anti-social behaviour have been credited with the collapse in alcohol related crime. This is especially good news for road fatalities which have fallen by 53%, and all traffic accidents which have fallen by 44%. All regions in the UK have seen a decrease with the greatest fall in the North East 33%, Yorkshire and Humber 29% and East Midlands 28%.
