Six new Masters of Wine announced

A record 106 candidates from around the world took the Master of Wine exams in June resulting in 6 new masters being welcomed.This makes a total of 319 Masters of Wine worldwide in 24 countries. In the last ten years 50% of the new masters have been female. The new masters are Robin Quick and Nicholas Paris from the US, Rob MacCulloch and Natasha Hughes from the UK, Louise Sydbeck from Sweden and Anne Krebiehl from Germany. Rob MacCulloch works for UK Burgundy Importers Domaine Direct and Natasha is a UK wine writer. To hold the title Master of Wine, candidates must pass a gruelling set of practical and written exams, as well as completing a dissertation.
