Riedel wins court case

Riedel, the Austrian glassmaker, are victorious in their lawsuit against rivals Eisch Glasskultur. Reidel filed a suit about Eischs advertisement for a breathable wine glass citing it as false advertising. Reidel told decanter.com that that they had been offered the same technology by a third party but had passed on it because they were sceptical about the scientific validity of the process. Eisch's wine glass advertising claimed that its glass is breathable and opens up the bouquet and aromas within 2 to 4 minutes. Eisch have been ordered to remove any advertising with these claims.
