US takes protectionist Canadian wine industry to the WTO

The US administration has filed a second complaint with the World Trade Organization over what it perceives to be unfair trading rules in the sale of wine in British Columbia. Domestic winemakers who sell their wines in Canada, often love the state controlled system, but actually importing wines into the highly protected Canadian market can be difficult. More so in some Canadian states than others. British Columbia, in particular, is being singled out for forcing all non BC wines to be sold in a 'store within a store'. While local BC producers are allowed to have their wines displayed on regular shelves within the shop therefore giving them an unfair advantage.
