Hangover free alcohol a thing of the future?

It could be history for hangovers. Wine drinkers could one day be free to enjoy a few glasses without fear of that morning-after feeling as scientists have discovered it’s possible to make hangover-free alcohol. David Nutt, a scientist at Bristol University, told New Scientist magazine that the positive effects of alcohol could be easily mimicked by a cocktail of drugs. But what needs to be achieved is a mix of molecules that offers alcohol’s pleasurable effects without the negative nausea, loss of co-ordination and amnesia. Mr Nutt said there’s no scientific reason why this couldn’t be achieved but it could be expensive to develop and test such a formulation.
