Nyetimber launches super premium Prestige Cuvées

Nyetimber has launched a new super premium range called 1086, and it seems the wine's main claim is that it is going to be expensive. The wines will only be produced in certain vintages and will rival top end prestige cuvée Champagnes at £150 (white) and £175 (rose) per bottle.

The English wine producer said it will release a 2009 vintage sparkling white and the 2010 sparkling rosé.

1086 is the year of the release of the Domesday Book, in which the English surveyed all assets in the UK for tax purposes. The connection is that the original Nyetimber vineyard was named in the Domesday Book.
