Eurostar limits the UK booze cruise

Eurostar has changed its policy limiting the amount of wine travellers can bring back to UK.

In response, Twitter was ablaze with the revelations that new rules banning spirits and limiting wine and beer to “four bottles/cans of beer or one bottle of wine per person” may cause wine trade professionals to find other means of transport to get to wine events. The ban limits travellers bringing back cheap French wine into London unless they pay a £30 fee to transport it as cargo.

The rule change had been slipped into the T&Cs last year without anybody noticing, but it would seem Eurostar is not enforcing it too severely at this stage, but they “reserve the right”.
