Massive flooding in the Eastern Australia hits vineyards

Massive flooding in the Eastern Australia hits vineyards but fortunately many of the grapes had been harvested before the floods came, and only a few regions were at risk, including NSW's most famous region Hunter Valley.

The rain has stopped harvest for the later ripening varieties, with mounting disease pressure from the storms. But not all of Hunter Valley's grapes are at risk. Hunter Valley Semillon is usually the first grape to be picked, specifically to avoid the late season rains.

In the rest of the regions around the state, for producers who had already harvested, the quality was good but with lower volumes.
