With 174,000 jobs available in the UK hospitality industry, pay is rising and flexible hours are being offered, so is it time to join the hospitality industry?
Nearly half (45%) of hospitality businesses have had to cut trading hours or capacity in order to cope with staff shortages, according to a new survey by UKHospitality, the British Institute of Innkeeping and the British Beer and Pub Association.
The highest vacancies are for front of house staff, with 81% of businesses looking to recruit roles such as sommeliers or waiters. Chefs and kitchen staff are always in demand, while assistant managers are needed by 53% of businesses.
