And the top country for sparkling wines is...Italy

The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships 2022 has announced their results and Italy won the most medals with 53 Gold and 129 Silver. France, the home of Champagne, picked up 55 Gold medals and 48 Silver putting them in second place, with Australia in third. Britain came 4th followed by the USA in 5th place and Spain in 6th.

Britain won 12 gold medals with Gusbourne Estate picking up 5 Gold medals. But the company that picked up 11 gold awards and this year, the Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year Trophy went to Ferrari Trento, the Italian sparkling wine producer.
