Coravin launches Vinitas for bottling single serve samples
Coravin has launched a new system for decanting wines into smaller single serve bottles.
The new Coravin Vinitas system automatically fills 100ml bottles while keeping the wine away from oxygen. They claim their system will keep wines preserved and fresh for up to one year after decanting.
The new system protects the wine from oxygen as the wine is automatically dispensed into custom bottles. It is designed for wineries, wine schools and producers, who ship wines in miniatures and save the shipping of whole bottles.
The machines can be hired for £750 a month and the bottles cost £1 each. Coravin leave the sourcing of the gas to the user but haven't specified the consumption rate of the inert gas used. In the future there will be other bottle sizes available.
