Judgement of London tasting
Winners of the Judgement of London tasting were announced at this weeks London Wine Fair, pitting top European wines against the rest of the world.
Europe narrowly pipped the post, scoring 2,621.5 points while the Rest of the World wines scored 2,604.5 points, a difference of just 17 points.
21 judges, including a significant number of Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers, evaluated 32 wines in a head to head in categories such as top Riesling, top Chardonnay, best white blend. Sarah Abbott MW selected wines that she thought were the best examples in the world, rather than producers submitting wines themselves.

Grosset Polish Hill Riesling, Clare Valley, Australia 2012
Jean Louis Chave Hermitage Rouge, Rhône, France 2012
Maison Louis Jadot Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, Burgundy, France 2017
The highest scoring wine overall was the Pegasus Bay Bel Canto Riesling 2011 vintage from Waipara, North Canterbury, New Zealand.
