Crystal Springs is new Napa AVA
Crystal Springs of Napa Valley has been officially designated as an American Viticulture Area (AVA), becoming the 18th AVA in the renowned region. Crystal Springs is nestled between St. Helena, Calistoga and Howell Mountain.
Led by Steven Burgess, former owner of Burgess Cellars, the push for recognition aims to differentiate the area’s wines, particularly its Cabernet Sauvignon. Viader, the largest winery in the AVA, won’t change its labels, while Burgess and other key players are enthusiastic about the area’s potential. The AVA’s fog-cooled vineyards set it apart from neighbouring regions like Howell Mountain, making Crystal Springs an exciting addition to Napa Valley’s celebrated wine landscape.
